31-32 Weeks Pregnant – Symptoms, Body Changes, Bump Update – Pregnancy Diary
Once I hit the 30 week mark, it felt like a countdown – and at 31-32 weeks pregnant, I knew time would start flying now.
Last Big Ultrasound
I had my last big ultrasound scheduled at 32 weeks pregnant, to check on baby’s growth and make sure everything was looking okay.
Since he had measured big, or at least his belly, in all the previous ultrasounds, there was still some concern.
And in this ultrasound too, his abdomen circumference measured very big. But once again, since I tested negative for gestational diabetes, there was nothing else to do. We would just have to wait and see.
At least the doctor didn’t seem too concerned, and let me officially “graduate” from my perinatology visits. I even received a small gift for the baby as “graduation” gift, and congratulations that I made it this far and everything was still okay.
Baby shower
With my first daughter, the world was still on lockdown here and there due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So I never really had a full-on baby shower, just a virtual one.
So I was more than happy that this time, my friends were eager to celebrate the upcoming arrival of my baby boy with me.
My friends organized a little get together at a beach playground. Since we were all mamas already, we all brought our little ones to play, while we enjoyed some food and had a lot of fun in the sun.
I am so thankful to have great mom friends I get to celebrate special moments like this with.
And even though it is not my first baby, it still made me feel very special about this pregnancy, and I was happy to see everyone’s excitement as well.
Symptoms
At 31-32 weeks pregnant, not much had changed.
Nesting
My nesting drive was still going strong.
After I started organizing all the clothes, I finally reached the point at 32 weeks pregnant where I felt like I had to order all the missing baby items.
SPD and Sciatica Pain
My SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction) pain was still very apparent, and noticeable at the start of almost every walk.
While it is not the most comfortable thing, it was manageable though, and would never last too long.
My sciatica pain on the other hand was finally easing and almost gone by the time I reached 32 weeks pregnant.
This whole time I was worried it would get worse and worse towards the end of pregnancy. So I was happily surprised by the fact that it started getting better and eventually disappeared.
I still believe that the major contributor to helping me get rid of the sciatica pain is that I tried to switch seating positions often.
When relaxing on the couch during my toddler’s nap or after she went to bed, I could not remain in the same position for more than 20-30 minutes.
In addition, I started doing more yoga and stretching, and I’m positive that helped with my sciatica pain as well.
Body Changes and Bump Update
At 31-32 weeks pregnant, my baby bump was still growing rapidly. It started feeling much heavier in front, especially since my belly was mostly just growing to the front. A sign that is typical for a boy pregnancy, as I have learned.
Weight wise I was still packing on the pounds relative to what I expected. At this point I pretty much reached the weight I had when I have birth to my daughter. So I was curious to see how much more I would gain this time around, since I still had 8 weeks to go.
I also started measuring my belly circumference. I used to do it regularly during my first pregnancy, but not so much any more during this one, just because I noticed my belly showed faster and grew bigger given it was my second pregnancy.
But I was curious to see if and how much bigger it would grow in total in the end.
At this point, It was on track, slightly bigger than during my first pregnancy. But I knew there was still a lot more growth ahead.
